Routine Visits
GCEC provides a routine daily service to thoroughbred racing stables at the Gold Coast Turf Club. We have a close and long standing relationship with our trainers and strive to provide them with the best possible veterinary advice and services.
Our vets travel in well equipped vehicles with endoscopes, routine medications, bandage and dressing materials, surgery kits, stomach tubes, farrier equipment, opthalmoscopes etc. Please let us know if you think you will require radiographs (x-rays) or an ultrasound scan as, due to the specialised and fragile nature of this equipment, it is not carried by all vets at all times.
In addition to our stable work we regularly service most of the large thoroughbred spelling farms in the Gold Coast hinterland and Beaudesert regions. Appointments should be made in advance for spelling farm work to allow our vets to plan their day and avoid overbooking. Regular visits to Beaudesert occur usually on Wednesday of each week with any travel fees are charged from Beaudesert only.
Our vets regularly service pleasure and performance horses in and around Nerang, Tamborine, Maudsland, Pimpama, Mudgeeraba, and the Tallebudgera and Currumbin Valleys as well as other surrounding areas. Please phone us to discuss your requirements if you have a horse that you would like one of our vets to examine.
Appointments should be made in advance so that non-emergency visits can be grouped together, enabling a more efficient service. Visits to more distant areas or on non-routine days may incur an extra travel fee to cover costs and time. Our vets are usually very busy on weekends so routine and non-emergency work is restricted to weekdays only. An extra fee may apply for weekend and out of hours work.
