The practice offers full medical and diagnostic services including digital radiography (X-ray), digital ultrasound, shockwave therapy, pre-purchase inspections, endoscopy, stem cell and IRAP joint therapy, on-site laboratory services, lameness examinations and evaluation, and routine spelling farm and racing stable visits.   • Routine Visits

    GCEC provides a routine daily service to thoroughbred racing stables at the Gold Coast Turf Club.

  • Digital Radiography

    Radiography is the process of taking X-rays and interpreting the results. X-rays are a valuable asset and key tool in diagnosing a multitude of problems in horses.

  • Ultrasound

    Ultrasound is a medical imaging technique that allows us to visualise the internal architecture of many soft tissue organs.

  • Pre-Purchase Examinations

    A pre-purchase veterinary examination (commonly referred to as “vetting”) is a valuable tool in providing a prospective purchaser with sufficient veterinary information to come to an informed decision as to whether or not they will purchase a particular horse for their particular needs.

  • Endoscopy

    Endoscopy is a procedure that involves passing a flexible fibreoptic (camera) endoscope through the horse’s nostril and down the nasal passage to visualise areas of the upper respiratory tract.

  • Stem Cells and IRAP Joint Therapy

    IRAP is a system that has been developed to stimulate white blood cells to produce anti-inflammatory mediators and enzymes to reduce the inflammatory phase of joint disease.

  • Lameness Examination

    Lameness investigation is a vital tool in finding and managing the cause of an abnormal gait. Lameness can be pain induced or mechanical in nature.

  • Laboratory Services

    Racetrack Equine Veterinary Service has a laboratory located at our practice enabling rapid processing and analysis of samples on site in most instances.
